This company in the mobility industry has had a business intelligence tool for their customers for more than a decade. However, no investment in the tool had been made in years, so that performance, reliability, user experience, and the commercial opportunity lagged far behind it’s potential. I analysed the current tool, interviewed people working with the tool in- and outside of the organisation, conducted a market and competitor analysis, conducted user research and finally scoped and planned a new implementation. A conservatively estimated business case showed a 5x revenue increase within 4 years and a break even after 2 years.
